“Target Delineation in the Multi-Modality Setting”

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you back on this learning journey in 2022! We are excited to present you our third edition of the Singapore On-Target (SPOT) Contouring Course that promises the same robust scientific program as before, yet with a new and improved platform to enhance your interactive & hands-on experience!

Last year’s contouring course touched on the theme of “Target Delineation in the Post-Operative Setting”, where we explored concepts of contouring in adjuvant radiotherapy, complemented with valuable inputs from our partner surgeons and radiologists. This years’ SPOT Contouring Course builds upon the successes of the past by firstly, taking into account the excellent feedback garnered from our previous participants on the tumor sites they would like to see in future courses, and secondly, by introducing new dimensions in radiotherapy contouring such as the role of systemic therapy, other local therapies such as radiofrequency ablation, and emerging modalities such as tumor treating fields & proton therapy.

Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange once said that “The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”  What made the multiverse so frightening to him was the fact that with this ignorance came countless elements of uncertainty that could present themselves to the familiar world he lived in, and protected. The same can be said in our world of Radiation Oncology, where ignorance of the impact of parallel specialties on our work can be not just frightening, but dangerous and sometimes fatal. To that end, in this year’s course, we have included tumor sites that serve to illustrate the importance of multi-modality inputs and collaborations including: Nasopharyngeal Cancer, Malignant Gliomas, Pancreatic Cancer, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, and Lymphoma.

Once again, we welcome our multi-disciplinary faculty of international and local experts to join us for this course, as we seek to cover the breaths and depths of each topic. Comprehensive hands-on contouring exercises will be made available to all full-access participants with real-life cases extracted from our clinical practice. This year, we also introduce a new and full-featured contouring platform to enhance your experience, and to make it even more seamless, wherever you may be. Our signature small group breakout sessions will once again be held during the workshop, providing opportunities for closer interaction and detailed discussions.

Without much further ado, we invite you to explore our course information further on our RadOncAsia website and the accompanying e-brochures that will be released in the weeks to come. Do take advantage of our early sign-up rates too, and be sure to secure your slots asap in this popular workshop.

We look forward to seeing you again in our SPOT Contouring Course 2022!

Yours Sincerely,

Dr Bala / Dr David
